On Day 3, you’ll roll out of Mississippi River State Park and make your way back into Marianna for breakfast.
Once you’re fueled up, the route turns west toward Louisiana Purchase State Park, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to stand at the very point that marks the origin of the Louisiana Purchase land survey. It was from this spot that the United States began mapping the 830,000 square miles acquired in the Louisiana Purchase—an agreement that doubled the size of the nation. It’s a quiet but powerful historic site, and a meaningful pause in the journey.
From there, you’ll continue toward the White River at Clarendon, cross over, and begin your southbound ride into the heart of the world’s duck‑hunting and rice‑growing capital.
