Day 2 - Village Creek State Park to Mississippi River State Park

Total Miles: 49.8

Elevation Gain: 1,677 ft

On Day 2 of the Arkansas Graveler, you’ll roll out of Village Creek State Park and head south toward Forrest City, where the first Aid Station—and plenty of food options—awaits.

This is the day when Crowley’s Ridge truly shows off. The sunken roads are among the most striking features in the entire state. Picture yourself riding a double‑track dirt road carved between towering 40‑foot earthen walls with a leafy canopy arching overhead. That’s Tuni Canyon. You’ll notice the “sunken roads” leading into the canyon, and together they form one of the most photographed highlights of the entire route.

Afterward, you’ll spend a bit more time on the levee before briefly joining the Mississippi River Trail on your way into Marianna. As you pass the city square, you can stop for a cold drink at the local bar and grill, or continue a couple more miles to your second overnight host: Mississippi River State Park. Nestled within the St. Francis National Forest, this park’s natural beauty sets the perfect stage for an evening of good food, good music, and well‑earned relaxation.
